About Me

The granddaughter of 4 Italian immigrants, who sacrificed so much to come to America, I am a native of Glen Cove, NY. After graduating from Georgetown University with a BA in English, I lived in the Washington, DC, area for over 30 years before moving permanently to Italy.

In the late 1980s, I visited France and Italy frequently while seeking a position in Europe. Thanks to my extraordinary parents, I met my Italian husband, Fabio (from Ascoli Piceno), in Bellagio on Lago di Como in 1986. When my parents asked me to meet them in Bellagio, their favorite spot in Italy, I had to ask, "Where the heck is Bellagio?" It wasn't exactly the happening place for young Americans at the time.

While I didn't land my dream job in Europe then, more fortunately, I met the love of my life. Over the years, we've spent many summers in Bellagio with our 3 children, where I always feel the presence of my beloved parents. Fabio and I are blessed to live in Florence with our 2 rescue pups, and  2 of our 3 adult children living just a 10-minute walk away.

After many years as a cross-cultural communications professional in the public and private sectors in the United States and Italy and owner of an Italian scuola calcio (soccer academy), I decided to venture out as a freelance consultant. I now work remotely from Florence, available for a wide range of U.S. and European clients, from individuals seeking help with small communication tasks or custom Italy trip planning to small and large organizations requesting writing, editing, publications management, or strategic communications planning.
